Hi Ben, thanks for sharing your experience. In fact, bed bugs were something I did not encounter with so many decades of bus travel so you don't really have to worry. I think most locals here (Singaporeans and Malaysians) will take a coach instead of a plane as the destination stopped with a coach was more convenient for us.

Being left behind by the coach was an all-time stress that never goes away although it never happened to me. Most coach drivers are responsible, I believe as they always do a head count before driving away.

The scenery was something I like too when taking buses. Most drivers will stop you at some tourist' shops in Malaysia to buy their local food products. You can get to try them too. This is one of my favourite parts of shopping for food at low prices :)

Thanks much for your informative blog! I was planning to travel by bus for KL-Singapore instead of flying but got put off by all the horror stories of roaches and bedbugs (Starmart stood out in particular). Also, very concerned about being left behind while clearing customs, especially for KL to Singapore leg. In the end I’m opting to fly, which is sad because I was hoping to enjoy the Malaysian scenery, but I’m going to prioritize getting from point A to point B with as little hassle as possible. 🙂

Hi Hai, nice that you have a positive experience with the bus ride to Malaysia. Sometimes, the journeys are indeed pleasant when the road condition is smooth and when you meet nice drivers. Hi Andy, unfortunately, I have no idea regarding registering your own vehicle. I know you have to apply a Z10 license for your car... The Private-Hire company will be able to advise you on the next step. Good luck to your passive income!
